Through the lived experience of 18 years as a certified teacher, 15 as an assistive technology professional within special education, 2 years as a respite care provider, and 9 years as a certified assistive technology professional it has become abundantly clear that individuals with disabilities need additional support to level the playing field with their non-disabled peers. Equipment, training, personalization, customization, modifications, and more are required to help individuals with disabilities. The lack of resources available to meet the need of individuals with disabilities during the Coivd-19 pandemic pushed my desire to create The Accessibility Clinic Inc a non-profit 501(c)(3) to support the education about assistive technology, increase access to accessible technology, provide interventions to increase the independence of individuals with disabilities through charity and more!
