I traveled to Florida at the end of 1997 and have lived in Central Florida the entire time. I started at Walt Disney World, where I worked with the characters until securing a position on the river boats around Animal Kingdom and then on to Discovery Island as a zookeeper, specializing in the Bird Show.
After the close of DI, I moved back to DAK, until securing a position with OCPS teaching 7th grade science. I taught at 2 MS, 1 high school and have served as the testing coordinator at 2 high schools, including my current position at Dr. Phillips High School.
I joined STARS around 2011 by volunteering with their annual gift wrapping event. Eventually I joined the Board of Directors until 2023, when I was appointed President of the Board. I love the work we do at STARS and hope that we can build the legacy of the former Executive Directors and Board by providing much needed school supplies to students in need.
