Kumon of Winter Garden

About Us

Kumon is the world's largest after-school math and reading enrichment program. Founded in Japan in 1954 by high school math teacher Toru Kumon, the program uses daily practice worksheets to help children build strong academic foundations, advance at their own pace, and learn independently.

Individualized Levels: Students take a placement test to start at a ''just-right level''—not necessarily matching their school grade—and move up only after mastering accuracy and speed.

Daily Worksheets: Students complete short, incremental assignments every single day, whether at home or attending a local study center once or twice a week.

Self-Learning Focus: Rather than traditional direct tutoring, instructors guide students to read examples, analyze problems, and correct their own mistakes independently.

Math: Starts with basic counting and number writing and advances through arithmetic, fractions, calculus, and high school math concepts.

Reading: Starts with basic phonics and tracing, progressing to advanced reading comprehension, vocabulary, and summarizing.

Early Learners: Specially designed programs for ages 3 to 5 that focus on foundational pencil skills, focus, and number/letter recognition.
